ARRIVAL AT NATHAN’S ESTATE
- Removed Nathan’s “you’re freaked out by the house” dialogue to calm Caleb down

- Removed the first half of Caleb and Nathan’s discussion on Ava after first meeting
- Removed Nathan’s “you’re not a man, you’re a god” story exchange
- Removed mirror moment where Caleb studies himself before bed
- Trimmed Caleb’s night surveillance sequence to remove Ava interacting with the charging terminal; blackout now interrupts observation before action is revealed
- Replaced Kyoko corridor shot with a clean corridor plate to avoid early visual rhyme with Ava
CALEB & AVA RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT
- Trimmed Ava dressing up montage to only show Caleb’s point of view
- Added extended shots of Caleb waiting; Ava is only revealed fully dressed when she walks back
- Removed surveillance montage of Ava undressing; Caleb’s attraction is now implied through Ava’s dialogue and reinforced later in Caleb/Nathan discussion
- Removed Ava’s line “I don’t want to make you uncomfortable” and replaced it with a silent reaction shot of Ava giving Caleb a warm smile
NATHAN & CALEB ESCALATION
- Removed Nathan/Kyoko dance sequence; scene now cuts from Nathan telling Caleb “You can’t talk to her” directly to Caleb helping Nathan to bed
- Kept Caleb’s Oppenheimer quote but removed the banter that follows
- Replaced nude Kyoko sofa shot with clothed insert, presented as a slow push-in reveal
- Removed Caleb's mannequin storage room discovery sequence; Kyoko’s AI identity is now implied through Caleb’s realization rather than explicitly demonstrated
- Removed scene where Caleb cuts himself in the bathroom to test if he is AI, removing an unnecessary subplot and keeping the narrative focused on Ava
- Removed Nathan’s later comment referencing security footage of Caleb cutting himself
FINAL CONFRONTATION
- Removed two shots revealing Kyoko holding the knife during the final confrontation
- Knife is now only revealed when Nathan backs into it, strengthening the surprise
AVA’S TRANSFORMATION & ESCAPE
- Trimmed Ava reconstruction sequence; retained arm replacement and skin application while removing extended mirror body reveal
- Removed prolonged mirror shot showing Ava’s full body; mirror moment now shown only from the neck up
- Removed interior house wandering sequence after Ava exits containment
- Transition now cuts directly from Caleb calling for Ava to the exterior forest shot and Ava leaving the facility
NEW ENDING EPILOGUE
- Extended original ending with custom epilogue of Ava observing the city through her point of view among humans, accompanied by a new ADR monologue and music cue
- Visual concept inspired by a scene Alex Garland originally envisioned where Ava perceives the world through pulses and signals
