REDONE INTRO
  • Added Light Speed Studios Logo
  • No “Danger Zone” montage. Scene starts with Maverick at the hanger.
  • Trimmed dialogue in Darkstar sequence and Chester Cain scene.
  • Removed Hondo saying, “He’s the fastest man alive.”
  • Removed “Put that in your Pentagon budget.”
  • Removed Mav saying, “it's one of life’s mysteries.”
  • Removed the “Your kind is headed for extinction” and “Not today” lines.
DEBRIEF DIALOGUE CHANGES
  • Removed Mav saying “Someone’s not coming home from this.”

REDUCED BAR SCENE

MAVERICK’S BAD TIMING

  • Removed the dialogue where Hangman says Rooster isn't ready.
PENNY/MAVERICK SCENE
  • Removed Penny/Maverick scene after “Dogfight Football” scene.

  • Removed bird strike and crash.
  • Modified dialogue in the next scene so Mav only mentions Coyote being checked out.
  • This is where we find out what the conflict between Rooster and Maverick is. Mav pulled Rooster's papers not because of a request, but Mav not believing Rooster was ready.

  • Removed Warlock saying, “Was asking a rhetorical question.”
MISSION BRIEFING EXPLANATION
  • Removed Warlock explaining the mission.
  • Kept the scene and music but muted the exposition.
HONDO GOODBYE
  • Removed Mav’s “If I don’t see you again” part of Hondo’s goodbye.
MISSION DIALOGUE CHANGES
  • Removed Warlock saying, “Long range patrol?”
  • Removed Cyclone saying, “Now they’re in coffin corner.”
  • Scene fades to dark quicker after Bob says, “Mav’s gone.”

  • Removed Hangman saying “I am good.” The point is he got humbled.

  • Now when Mav sees through the plane, he sees Penny not Amelia.
