Editor's Note
Project Hail Mary was a frustrating watch. I loved the premise but felt the film never reached its potential. The ideas were compelling, but I struggled to connect with Grace or believe the emotional weight of his journey. Far From Sol became my attempt to change that by giving Grace a family throughline and a more personal reason for the choices he ultimately makes. I also wanted to pull back the humor, treat Rocky as a genuine intellectual counterpart, and give the story the more grounded emotional weight I felt its premise deserved.
